Do you need a cat collar or a dog collar? Sylcraft makes them as well.
Some questions we've gotten over the years.
- Cat a cat can wear a dog collar? The best answer for this is a NO. The reason we use breakaway collars for cats is so that when (not if) they get it caught on something outside or inside it will come apart so your pet won't be injured. If it does not break away on a cat, their delicate necks can be harmed. It's the same for very small dogs. They are better off having a breakaway collar. Just remember: no leash can be used with a breakaway collar.
- What's a breakaway buckle? A breakaway buckle is one that will come apart under pressure so that your pets neck is not harmed. They can struggle pretty hard when they get scared and just think about how YOU'D feel if your neck was stuck on something. Pretty terrifying!
- Will a cotton collar hold up or break on me? Cotton collars hold up well as long as they are not outside 24/7. Since cotton is a natural fiber it will eventually begin to show wear no matter what but if they are outside all the time it's faster. They are washable in cold water to help retain color.
- Are cotton collars comfortable for my pets? Cotton is a soft, natural fiber and is very comfortable for your pets. It breathes which makes it much more comfortable in the hot summer and it softens with wear so becomes very comfortable after worn for a few weeks.
